I'm stealing a meme from celtic_flicka because it seems like a fun distraction. :-)

Day 01 - A show that should never have been cancelled


A show that should never have been cancelled? I suppose my obvious answer is Veronica Mars, and the fic I write here should demonstrate my devotion to those characters and my need to correct a plot line that never should have happened.

But, I'm going to dodge the obvious and go with a different answer:

BRIMSTONE.

Brimstone was a show that only lasted a year on FOX, and like other quality shows (Millenium for example) - FOX totally screwed the pooch on this one.

It was a fascinating show starring Peter Horton and John Glover. The premise was that Peter Horton, a police officer shot down in the line of duty, had murdered his wife's rapist and found himself in Hell for that sin. The devil (John Glover) allows him to return to earth to track down 113 escaped demons. If successful, he would be returned to earth as a living man. Unfortunately, the viewers never found out if he was successful since FOX cancelled the show after only 13 episodes. It was full of dark humor and unanswered questions.

FOX steadfastly refuses to release the series on DVD, but you can catch it occasionally on the Chiller channel.
