Bad News, Good News, and Dawson's Creek

The bad news is that my laptop died, taking with it the next chapter of Post Partum and approximately 1000 words of my "Tucson Too Soon" Mac/Weevil road trip fic. (And a whole bunch of other stuff, like two years worth of photographs and tax returns and budget spreadsheets...argh.)

The good news is that some computer geeks I hired think they will have the laptop AND my data back by Thursday. I am hopeful.

Solely because I know that Rob Thomas wrote some of the episodes, I borrowed Season 1 of "Dawson's Creek" from the public library. I am liking it but I am not entralled. Does it get better? Also, I can tell I am totally a mom, because when Ms. Jacobs slept with Pacey I was all horrified and thinking, "THAT BOY IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLDER THAN MY SON!!!" and "I WOULD KILL THAT CRAZY BE-YOTCH IF SHE SLEPT WITH MY KID!" AND "WHAT THE HELL IS SHE THINKING???"

Um...so, evidently I am not really much of a hopeless romantic when it comes to the Ms. Jacobs/Pacey love story...

What I AM enthralled with is the HBO Series "True Blood". But I loved the books the series was based on, so I'm not surprised I love the show.
